Buying & Choosing the

Right Outdoor TV

Why are your prices lower?

Most outdoor TVs are hit with high import tariffs before they even reach a US warehouse. Because we manufacture in Mexico under the IMMEX program, we pay $0 in import duties. We don't pocket that difference we pass it on to you.

Can I use these TVs indoors as well?

Yes, you can technically use an outdoor TV indoors, but it’s optimized for outdoor environments. The higher brightness might make it appear very bright in a dark room, but functionally it will work.

What types of outdoor TVs do you offer?

We currently offer partial-sun outdoor TVs. These are designed for covered patios, verandas, pergolas, and
other spaces where the TV is shielded from direct sun for most of the day but
still experiences bright ambient light.

What’s the difference between an outdoor TV and a regular indoor TV?

Outdoor TVs are specifically engineered for exterior use. Compared to indoor TVs, they typically offer:

  • Higher brightness for
visibility in daylight and shaded outdoor areas
  • Weather resistance against
    rain, humidity, dust, and insects
  • Durable enclosures that
help protect the electronics from temperature swings
  • Anti-glare or low-reflection screens for
    better viewing outside

Using a standard indoor TV outside can quickly lead to damage and voided warranties.

Is a partial-sun TV right for my space?

Choose a partial-sun outdoor TV if:

  • The TV is under a covered patio, porch, pergola, or veranda
  • The screen is not facing direct sunlight for long periods
  • The area receives bright ambient light but the TV itself is relatively shaded

If your TV location gets intense direct sunlight most of the day, additional shading (e.g., a deeper overhang or
side shades) is recommended.

Weatherproofing, Durability & Placement

Are your TVs fully weatherproof?

Our outdoor TVs are designed for permanent outdoor installation and built to handle:

  • Rain and splashes
  • Humidity and condensation
  • Dust and insects

However, you should always install them in line with our placement recommendations and user manual for best long-term durability.

Can I place the TV in full sun?

Our models are optimized for partial sun / shaded areas. Direct, intense sunlight for extended periods can:

  • Impact screen readability
  • Increase internal temperatures
  • Potentially reduce product lifespan

We recommend installing your TV where it is protected from direct midday sun whenever possible(e.g., under a roof or deeper overhang, or using side shades).

Can the TV stay outside all year?

Yes, our outdoor TVs are designed as permanent installations. In areas with extreme cold or heat, check the user manual for the recommended operating and storage temperature range. In very harsh climates, you may want to cover the TV with a weatherproof cover when not in use for added protection.

Installation, Mounts & Power

Can I install the TV myself?

Many customers with basic DIY skills can handle the installation, but we strongly recommend professional installation, especially for:

  • Wall mounting on masonry or exterior walls
  • Running power and signal cables safely
  • Ensuring proper weatherproofing and cable management

Improper installation may affect safety and could impact your warranty coverage.

What kind of wall mount do I need?

Use a VESA-compatible outdoor-rated mount that supports the size and weight of your TV. We recommend:

  • fixed or tilt mount for extra stability in windy conditions
  • Stainless stee or rust-resistant hardware for outdoor use

Always follow both the TV and mount manufacturer’s installation guidelines.

Do I need a special power outlet?

The TV uses a standard AC power outlet, but for outdoor installations, it must be:

  • properly grounded outdoor outlet
  • Weather-protected (e.g., in-use cover)
  • Installed in accordance with local electrical codes

We recommend using a licensed electrician for any new or modified outdoor outlets.

Smart TV Features & LG webOS

What smart TV platform do your outdoor TVs use?

Our outdoor TVs are built on LG webOS, LG’s smart TV operating system.

What can I do with LG webOS on these outdoor TVs?

With LG webOS, you can:

  • Access popular streaming apps (availability varies by region and app provider)
  • Connect to your home Wi-Fi
  • Usescreen mirroring or casting from compatible devices
  • Navigate easily with LG’s intuitive smart TV interface

Some apps or features may require separate subscriptions or accounts.

Do streaming apps come pre-installed?

Most major apps are pre-installed or available to download from the webOS content store. App availability, features, and performance are controlled by each app provider and may change over time.

Can I connect cable or satellite TV?

Yes. You can connect:

  • Cable or satellite boxes via HDMI
  • Streaming sticks or media players via HDMI
  • Other devices (e.g., gaming consoles, Blu-ray players) as long as the connection is compatible and prorly protected for outdoor use.

Audio & Sound Options

Are the built-in speakers loud enough outdoors?

The built-in speakers are suitable for casual viewing on a quiet patio. However, outdoor environments can be noisy and sound can dissipate quickly. For the best experience, we recommend pairing your TV with:

  • An outdoor-rated soundbar, or
  • An outdoor audio system connected via HDMI ARC, optical, or Bluetooth (depending on the TV model’s supported connections).

Can I use Bluetooth speakers or soundbars?

If your model and region’s version of webOS supports Bluetooth audio, you can pair compatible Bluetooth soundbars or speakers. Performance and range can vary, so we recommend placing the audio device within a reasonable distance and line of sight of the TV.

Connectivity & Devices

How do I connect the TV to my Wi-Fi?

During initial setup, follow the on-screen LG webOS prompts:

  1. Turn on the TV and follow the guided setup.
  2. Choose your Wi-Fi network from the list.
  3. Enter your Wi-Fi password.
  4. Complete any additional webOS setup steps.

For best reliability outdoors:

  • Ensure your Wi-Fi signal reaches the installation area
  • Consider a Wi-Fi extender or mesh node if the signal is weak outside.

Can I connect gaming consoles or media players?

Yes. You can connect most modern devices via HDMI:

  • Gaming consoles (PlayStation, Xbox, etc.)
  • Streaming devices (Roku, Fire TV, Apple TV, etc.)
  • Blu-ray / DVD players

Protect any external devices from the elements (e.g., place them in a weatherproof cabinet or indoors with cables routed outside).

Care, Cleaning & Maintenance

How should I clean the screen?

To clean the TV:

  1. Turn off and unplug the TV.
  2. Use a soft, dry microfiber cloth to gently wipe the screen.
  3. For stubborn spots, lightly dampen the cloth with water only and wipe gently.

Avoid:

  • Harsh chemicals, alcohol, or ammonia-based cleaners
  • Using paper towels or abrasive materials
  • Spraying liquid directly onto the screen or TV

Do I need a cover when the TV is not in use?

While the TV is designed for outdoor use, a weatherproof cover can provide extra
protection against dust, debris, and extreme conditions. We recommend using a cover especially during storms or extended periods of non-use.

Troubleshooting

My TV is on, but the picture is too dim in daylight. What can I do?

Try the following:

  1. Increase the brightness and picture mode (e.g., set to a vivid or outdoor-friendly mode).
  2. Ensure the TV isn’t facing direct midday sun.
  3. Add shade (e.g., deeper overhang or side screen) to reduce glare.

If brightness is still insufficient, your mounting location may be too bright for a partial-sun model and may need more shading.

The TV won’t connect to Wi-Fi.

Check:

  1. Is your Wi-Fi signal strong enough at the TV location?
  2. Have you entered the correct Wi-Fi password?
  3. Restart your router and the TV.

If issues remain, try moving a Wi-Fi extender closer to the TV or use a wired solution (if available and supported in your setup).

What should I do if the TV doesn’t power on?

  1. Confirm the outdoor outlet has power (test with another device).
  2. Check that all cables are firmly connected and not damaged.
  3. Try a different outdoor-rated outlet, if available.

If the TV still does not power on, please contact our support team; have your purchase details and serial number ready.
